Detroit Red Wings jersey concepts

I have always big a big fan of the oldschool Detroit Cougars jerseys. I always felt that their style, along with the current, timeless Red Wings logo could be the ultimate jersey. So I decided to play around with this idea and came up with a jersey who borrows style from the Cougars jerseys, using the Red Wings logo instead. Also, for the away jersey, I borrowed from an older alternate version of their current logo.

I also decided to mess around with a 3rd jersey idea. I figured the Red Wings need to show more appreciation for their fans throwing octopuses on the ice before they play, because who doesn’t love the smell of dead octopus? It started off as kind of a joke, then I borrowed some influence from the Sharks 3rd and I think it came out OK, but still pretty plain.

Toronto Maple Leafs jersey concepts in blue

I got some feedback for my green TML jersey concepts. The main issue was that they were green, and not the dark blue, so I decided to make them the dark blue for everyone to see. They still look much better than the current leafs jerseys. I also included a couple more jersey concepts, with the two stripes and one big stripe in the middle (kind of like their current socks).

Who knows? Maybe jerseys like these could provide a much needed spark to the team.

Los Angeles Kings jersey and logo concepts

I have always loved the black, grey, and white jerseys that the Kings used to sport when Gretzky was the king. You don’t really see any teams using greys in their jerseys, which is why I believe the Kings should just stick with it instead of trying to re-introduce the purple and other elements of their nasty vintage jerseys.

First off, I revised the logo a little bit. You can see it is a little less busy, all black, grey and white, and I changed some of the dots around. Its a minor difference, but one which I feel looks much better. My logo is the top right one, which you can compare to the old logo below.

Now for the jerseys. I really went back to the old style jerseys and changed the trim around a little bit. I also swapped the grey with the white so that there would be more grey in the design. I think it looks better than their old ones, and along with the new logo, makes their current jerseys look like trash. You can see my influences, there is a hint of the new and a lot of the old.

Toronto Maple Leafs jersey concepts

So I have had an idea for this for a while now. Basically, this jersey idea is what motivated me to start this blog. I came up with this because I feel that the old leafs logo is wayyy better than their “modernized” new one. First off, since when are maple leafs blue? Secondly, since when are they perfectly symmetrical?

I decided to go back to the St. Pats green, as well as their older logos. Kind of mix and matched with their newer jersey designs, and re-added the bottom stripes. I think these jerseys would rock.
